The new stop project stems from the desire to increase the rail transport offer in the transport offer in the reference basin, through the activation of a new connection serving the University of Calabria and the municipalities of Rende and Montalto Uffugo, also triggering the opportunity to structure, along the continuation of the main axis of the University, a cycle/pedestrian path connecting the stop and the northern entrance to the university campus, with equipped green areas.
